This amazing pickup truck which comes from German car producer Volkswagen aims to conquer the world. Although it is still unclear whether 2015 VW Amarok will find its place on US market, the model will for sure catch the attention of the European buyers. However this model is available in two versions, as a regular model and in limited edition Amarok Dark Label which is produced in only 300 copies.
2015 VW Amarok trims and features
As it usually is with German car producer Volkswagen, so is with its 2015 VW Amarok. It comes available in three equipment lines, named symbolically Startline, Trendline and Highline, and in one special edition version.
Standard Amarok Startline model comes with standard feature which include: 16-inch alloy wheels, Austin cloth upholstery, electric windows, climate control, RCD 210 radio with MP3, CD player, AUX-IN port and 2 speakers. Its basic safety and security features include: ABS (with off-road ABS), ASR, EDL, ESP, Hill Start and Hill Descent Control, HD suspension, trailer stabilization, remote central locking with deadlocks and Thatcham Category 1 approved immobilizer and alarm.
Trendline equipment includes 17-inche alloy wheels, cruise control, fog lights, automatic two-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Trail cloth upholstery, trip computer with multi-function display, three additional ports, RCD 310 radio with MP3, CD player, AUX-IN port and 6 speakers.
Highline equipment adds 18-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors, rear privacy glass, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and Multi-function plus pack.
2015 VW Amarok Dark Label includes all above and adds even more, such as RNS315 Satellite Navigation with Bluetooth, Alcantara seat covering and more.
2015 VW Amarok engine and fuel economy
Amarok offers two engine options, which include same engine with different technologies and outputs. Basic version is a 2.0-liter TDI with 140 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Second engine option is a 2.0-liter BiTDI which offers 180 horsepower and either 400 lb-ft of torque (with 6-speed manual) or 420 lb-ft of torque (with 8-speed automatic).
Both engines with 6-speed manual transmission offer VW’s 4MOTION system as optional, while with engine paired to an 8-speed automatic it comes standard.
Fuel economy rates for 2015 VW Amarok with 2.0-liter TDI engine are 29.4/41.5/36.2 mpg city/hwy/combined. Amarok with 2.0-liter BiTDI unit and manual transmission returns 30.7/38.7/35.3 mpg city/hwy/combined and with automatic 31/38.2/35.3 mpg.
2015 VW Amarok rivals, price and release
2015 Volkswagen Amarok is already release, including regular and Dark Label version. Its closest rivals however are Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, and Ford Ranger. Price of the model is around $33,000 for the base version of a regular Amarok, while Dark Label edition costs around $42,000.
